The Room
Beneath the Café de Paris · A Room of 320 People
New Moods sits below the Café de Paris Monte-Carlo on the Place du Casino — a velvet-clad concert hall in shades of deep red and gold, and one of the most storied nightlife rooms in the Principality. The original "Moods" ran from 2008 to 2011 before falling dark for more than a decade; it was revived as New Moods in December 2024 under the leadership of Stéphane Valeri, Chairman and CEO of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, as part of a wider cultural renewal across the SBM properties.
What makes the room particular is scale. With 120 seated places and standing capacity for a further 200, the entire audience is close enough to see facial expressions on stage. Tribute nights for artists who ordinarily fill football stadiums — Coldplay, Queen, U2, the Rolling Stones — become something closer to a rehearsal-room encounter, held in one of the most elegant small venues in Europe.
The Season
A Third Year Under Alfonso Ciulla's Curation
Now firmly established after two full seasons, New Moods enters its third year with a programme curated by Alfonso Ciulla, SBM's Artistic Director, and run day-to-day by Stéphane Lobono. The 2026-2027 season leans further into range than either of the previous two: rock and pop icons of the last fifty years, alongside a deep bench of French chanson (Sardou, Hallyday, Goldman, Cabrel, France Gall) and one Italian night dedicated to Eros Ramazzotti. The result is a season that plays as easily to Monégasque locals as it does to international guests.

The New Moods menu is designed by Victor Marion, Executive Chef of the Brasserie du Café de Paris Monte-Carlo. Built for sharing rather than for a formal seated dinner, the offer sits between a proper restaurant and a bar menu — the kind of food that keeps up with a two-hour concert without slowing it down.
Signature dishes
Truffled Croque-Monsieur, Lobster Brioche, "Moods" Madeleine coated in melted cheese, "Concert Crudités," and Churros with caramel sauce to close the evening — the menu is compact and deliberately playful, designed to travel easily around a small table between courses of applause.
"Big Moods" & the Triple Margarita
The house cocktails are built for a group. The Big Moods is a trio of Spritz options in the venue's red-and-gold palette; the Triple Margarita — Olmeca Tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, salt rim — arrives at scale and is meant to be poured across a table rather than sipped alone.

The Room, Available Year-Round
Beyond the public season, New Moods is available for private and corporate hire year-round, for groups from 40 to 200 guests. The mezzanine, the VIP lounges, or the entire venue can be booked exclusively — birthdays, wedding receptions, product launches, corporate evenings, brand activations. The Café de Paris kitchen handles catering, and the venue's own sound and staging carry over from the public programme.

New Moods & a Stay at Villa Monaco
New Moods runs Thursday to Saturday from October through March — precisely the months when Villa Monaco is at its most private and least crowded. The villa sits in Cap-d'Ail, three minutes from the Monaco border and roughly eight minutes by car from the Place du Casino, with parking for ten cars on the estate itself. For guests who prefer to leave the driving to someone else, the villa's concierge team handles chauffeur transfers directly from the villa gate.
For an evening at New Moods, the geography is genuinely enabling. Aperitifs on the villa's terrace, a short drive down the Corniche, the show, and a return in fifteen minutes to a private property that is entirely yours. It is a formula that works particularly well for groups of six or more — bookable exclusively at New Moods with a table, and equally exclusively at the villa on either side of it.
